Porto Koufo
Porto Koufo is a picturesque fishing village located on the southwestern coast of Sithonia in Chalkidiki. Its natural harbor is the largest in Greece and played an important role in the area’s history. During World War II, it was used as a submarine base by the Germans, and later, as a refuge for Greek rebel forces during the Greek Civil War. Today, the harbor is still used by local fishermen and provides a peaceful and scenic setting for visitors to enjoy.
