Ancient Olynthos is one of the most ancient cities of Chalkidiki, with a long history as according to historical facts it has been inhabited since the Neolithic Age.  It is considered a very important historical monument.  The excavations revealed impressive mosaic floors but also findings concerning the special architecture of Olynthos that seems to follow the famous Hippodameian system.
